Written by ROJAZ with her close friend and lead producer ‘Victor Ayuso’. Meeting every week for over a year, they would write in a bare room in New Southgate, North London, with a simple set-up and a notebook; which ROJAZ uses as a reflection journal and a place to write both poetry and lyrics. They’d begin the session as most close friends would; catching up emotionally and exchanging their new favourite songs. Through Victor’s habit to display a carousel of paintings when listening back to progress, the pair would often use modern art as inspiration.

The use of colours in modern art and by photographers like Jake Wagner drew ROJAZ, who sought to integrate this in her visuals. Stemming from her dance background, she paid careful attention to whether the percussion and production choices inspired her to move. Already picturing moving visuals as the sound progressed and resulting in a dance packed music video.
